KFC is the most recognizable brand in Indonesia compared to other fast-food chains such as McDonald's or Pizza Hut. KFC ranked first with a score of 55.5 percent, McDonald's 27 percent, and Hoka-Goka Bento 5.8 percent. Pizza Hut, currently facing issues regarding the use of expired ingredients, has a popularity rating of only 4.8 percent.
This survey, conducted by W&S Market Research in three countries in 2015, involved 400 respondents in Indonesia. The survey only measured the popularity of fast-food brands specifically within the DKI Jakarta region. The results show that, not only in Indonesia, but also in Vietnam and Thailand, the KFC brand is well-known.
In Indonesia, KFC food is most popular among men. Generally speaking, KFC customers are predominantly aged 16-18 years old. Pizza Hut, on the other hand, is more popular among women. In terms of age, its customers are largely between 19-24 years old and over 30 years old.
