This figure represents a one percent increase, or 29 additional cases, compared to the previous day. However, this is not the highest increase recorded. The highest increase was previously recorded on Wednesday (July 21st) with an addition of 122 cases.

To date, of the 15 regencies/cities in the province, nine areas have recorded infection ratios exceeding 5 percent. This infection ratio is calculated by comparing the number of COVID-19 cases per 1,000 people at the regency/city level. These areas are Manado, Tomohon, Southeast Minahasa, Bitung, Kotamobagu, Minahasa, Sangihe Islands, North Minahasa, and North Bolaang Mongondow.
The total number of positive cases in this region is 962.39 per 100,000 population. In terms of infection rate per 100,000 population, this region ranks sixth nationally.
Today, the weekly bed occupancy rate (BOR) in Bitung City is reported at 98.78 percent. This bed occupancy rate has decreased compared to the ratio over the past three weeks, which consistently remained at 100 percent since July 16th. However, with a BOR still above 90 percent, the Ministry of Health considers this condition as a stage where medical facilities are beginning to have limited services. In this category, a region is approaching the maximum limit of public service in pandemic mitigation efforts.
In addition to the decreasing BOR, the weekly positive COVID-19 confirmation rate in this region has also reportedly decreased in the last five days. Previously, it had reached over 100 cases per 100,000 population, but yesterday's data only recorded 88 cases per 100,000 population.
To anticipate a wider spread of COVID-19, the government has implemented a national vaccination program. The first dose of vaccination has been administered to 48.11 million people. Meanwhile, the number of people who have received the second dose of vaccination is 21.44 million.
