The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia currently is in Bulungan, North Kalimantan, with 126.37 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Sunday, October 3, 2021. This figure is 57 cases higher than the second-highest region.
Over the past week, the Covid-19 transmission situation in Bulungan has not improved. This is indicated by the number of cases this week, which is still higher than the previous week's figure of 107.04 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Next in second place is East Belitung. This region recorded 69.55 weekly confirmed cases per 100,000 population. Compared to last week's 110.5 cases, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases this week is lower.
Also in the top five, besides the two regions mentioned above, are Bontang City, Pangkal Pinang City, and Tarakan City. Each recorded weekly confirmation rates of 45.41 cases, 36.21 cases, and 34.23 cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Nunukan, West Bangka, Boven Digoel, and Banda Aceh City. These regions recorded an average increase of more than 27.15 cases per 100,000 population.
