Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 113 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from Monday, February 13, 2023, shows a national average of 100.86 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Cirebon City, Karawang, Kediri, Mimika, and Sukabumi, with weekly specimen numbers of 932, 894, 780, 769, and 723, respectively.
Cirebon City ranks first. With a population of 322,250, it recorded 932 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.3 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Karawang. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 894 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 0.67 percent, also lower than the previous week's percentage.
Kediri recorded 780 specimens per week; Mimika, with a population of 224,410, recorded 769 specimens per week; and Sukabumi recorded 723 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 94 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 104 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimen examinations compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of specimen examinations include Mimika, Palangkaraya City, and Kupang City, with 769, 722, and 655 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
