The number of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia continues to decline over the past month. According to a report from the Covid-19 Task Force, the number has reached 181,555 active cases as of March 22, 2022.
West Java still contributes the most active Covid-19 cases, reaching 46,045 cases. This is equivalent to 25.36% of the total national active cases.
The second highest number of active Covid-19 cases is in Yogyakarta Special Region with 25,844 cases. Central Java and Papua are ranked third and fourth, with 20,088 and 11,773 active Covid-19 cases respectively.
Next, Lampung and Jakarta have 11,431 and 9,438 active Covid-19 cases respectively.
East Nusa Tenggara, Banten, West Sumatra, and East Java are also among the provinces with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases, namely 6,014, 5,755, 4,298, and 3,822 cases respectively.
As of March 22, 2022, the total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 5,974,646. 2.57% of these cases resulted in death, and 94.38% have recovered.
Although the third wave of Covid-19 has subsided, the public must remain vigilant against the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, the public is urged to always be vigilant and implement health protocols by wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
