Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 142 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Tuesday, November 29, 2022, shows a national average of 132.01 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Pasuruan (983 specimens), Metro City (966 specimens), Kediri City (958 specimens), Bengkulu Utara Regency (928 specimens), and Palu City (923 specimens).
Pasuruan ranks first, with 983 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 12.2 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Metro City, with a population of 174,260. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 966 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 4.12 percent, also down from the previous week.
Kediri City recorded 958 specimens examined per week; Bengkulu Utara Regency, 928 specimens; and Palu City, 923 specimens.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 150 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 158 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens examined include Metro City (966 specimens), Bengkulu Utara Regency (928 specimens), and Palu City (923 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
