Based on national Covid-19 data, 162 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Saturday, March 26, 2022, shows a national average of 1.89 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are South Jakarta (14.79 people), Badung (14.4 people), Central Jakarta (13.85 people), Sukabumi (11.8 people), and Balikpapan (10.41 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 14.79 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 4.28 percent, down from the previous week.
Next is Badung, with a population of 727,950. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 14.4 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 1.75 percent, also down from the previous week.
Central Jakarta recorded 13.85 tests per 1,000 people per week; Sukabumi, 11.8 tests per 1,000 people per week; and Balikpapan, 10.41 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 142 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 216 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Badung (14.4 people), Balikpapan (10.41 people), and Bontang (9.74 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
