Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 95 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data as of Thursday, March 23, 2023, shows the national average examination rate at 89.76 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Medan City, Sleman, Indragiri Hulu, Sidoarjo, and Kediri City, with weekly specimen numbers of 970, 953, 949, 876, and 826 specimens respectively.
Medan City ranks first, with 970 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.15 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Sleman. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 953 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is 3.38 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the number of specimens examined in Indragiri Hulu was 949 per week, Sidoarjo recorded 876 specimens per week, and Kediri City recorded 826 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 30 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 131 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Medan City, Indragiri Hulu, and Kutai Kartanegara, with 970, 949, and 642 specimens examined respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
