Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 179 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data from the week of April 3rd, 2022, shows a national average of 214.43 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Lampung Tengah, Serang City, Serdang Bedagai, Ngawi, and Bengkalis, with 995, 991, 980, 971, and 956 tests per week respectively.
Lampung Tengah ranks first, with 995 tests per week recorded in the last week. The latest positive rate is 2.51 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Serang City, with a population of 718,430. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 991 tests per week were conducted. The positive rate is 4.84 percent, also down from the previous week.
Following this is Serdang Bedagai, with a population of 616,660, recording 980 Covid-19 tests per week; Ngawi with 971 tests per week; and Bengkalis, with a population of 570,570, recording 956 Covid-19 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 222 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests per week include Lampung Tengah, Serdang Bedagai, and Bengkalis, with 995, 980, and 956 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
