On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, the number of deaths in Indonesia due to the Covid-19 coronavirus reached 2,048. This increase in deaths is the second highest since the coronavirus pandemic hit the country. The previous highest record of coronavirus deaths was on July 27, 2021, with 2,069 deaths.
The additional deaths due to the coronavirus have been fluctuating since the beginning of August 2021. The average additional Covid-19 deaths has reached 1,650 since the beginning of this month.
By province, West Java contributed the most additional coronavirus deaths today, with 491 deaths. It is followed by Central Java with 490 additional deaths.
With this addition, the total number of coronavirus deaths in Indonesia has reached 110,619. This number is equivalent to 2.64% of the total coronavirus cases, which reached 3.71 million.
11.75% of the total coronavirus cases are still undergoing treatment. The remaining 85.27% have been declared recovered.
One step to reduce the death toll is to curb the spread of the coronavirus. This can be done by diligently implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
