Based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 163 regencies/cities aggressively conducted suspect testing, exceeding the national average weekly percentage. As of Monday, April 4, 2022, the national average was 10.85 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the total number of people tested in each region, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Padang Lawas Utara (80.58%), Dompu (76.76%), Buol (63.74%), Simalungun (62.82%), and Kotawaringin Barat (62.8%).
Padang Lawas Utara ranks first. With a population of 293,240, its weekly suspect testing percentage is 80.58 percent. The latest positive rate is 2.44 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week.
Next is Dompu. This region has a population of 269,310. In its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, its weekly suspect testing percentage reached 76.76 percent. The positive rate is 1.82 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Following this, Buol recorded 63.74 percent, Simalungun (population 877,710) recorded 62.82 percent, and Kotawaringin Barat recorded 62.8 percent in weekly suspect testing percentages.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 116 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher weekly suspect testing percentages than the previous week. Meanwhile, 260 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly suspect testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Padang Lawas Utara, Dompu, and Buol, with percentages of 80.58 percent, 76.76 percent, and 63.74 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
