The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 76 regencies/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, September 26, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.82 per 100,000 population per week, are Bintan (1.2 per 100,000 population per week), Banda Aceh City (1.07 per 100,000 population per week), Mentawai Islands (1.01 per 100,000 population per week), Central Bengkulu (0.86 per 100,000 population per week), and Magelang City (0.82 per 100,000 population per week).
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. Nine regencies/cities recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than before, while seven regencies/cities recorded a lower number.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Bintan (1.2 per 100,000 population per week), Banda Aceh City (1.07 per 100,000 population per week), and the Mentawai Islands (1.01 per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
