For two consecutive weeks, from September 13-26, 2021, Indonesia was free from the Covid-19 red zone. This means that no districts/cities had a high level of coronavirus transmission risk.
This situation is in line with the increasingly controlled spread of the virus. Towards the end of September, Covid-19 cases were increasingly under control.
The report from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force shows that the number of districts/cities in the orange zone decreased from 20 to 11. The previous week, 31 districts/cities still had a moderate level of coronavirus risk.
Conversely, the number of districts/cities in the yellow zone increased from 19 to 500. Previously, there were 481 districts/cities in the yellow zone from September 13-19, 2021.
Meanwhile, the number of districts/cities in the green zone (with no new cases) increased to three. However, there were no districts/cities in Indonesia that were in the green zone or completely unaffected by the coronavirus.
Nevertheless, the government continues to urge the public to diligently implement the 3M health protocols to suppress the rate of coronavirus transmission. These protocols consist of wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
