The highest increase in confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Central Kalimantan currently occurred in Sukamara, with three cases per 100,000 people per week as of Monday, January 10, 2022. This figure is one case higher than the second-highest region.
Although the highest, the number of COVID-19 transmissions in Sukamara has decreased compared to the previous week, which was at five cases per 100,000 people per week.
Next in second place is Katingan. This region recorded a weekly confirmation rate of 1.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Compared to the previous week, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases this week is still higher, meaning there is no improvement yet.
Still in the top five, besides the two regions mentioned above, are Palangkaraya city, Barito Selatan, and Kapuas. Each recorded weekly confirmations of 1.4 cases, 0.7 cases, and 0.3 cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Kotawaringin Timur, Gunung Mas, Seruyan, and Lamandau. These regions recorded an average increase of more than 0.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
Furthermore, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, in this province, there are seven regencies/cities that did not record an increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week.
Other information is that there are 146 regencies/cities in Indonesia that recorded a higher increase compared to the previous week, and 121 other regencies/cities that recorded lower weekly confirmations than the previous week.
In addition, there are 308 regencies/cities in Indonesia that, according to the latest developments, did not report any confirmed COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants per week.
