The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Padang Pariaman (999 specimens), Kuningan (980 specimens), Batang (975 specimens), Singkawang City (975 specimens), and Tapin (972 specimens).
Padang Pariaman ranks first. With a population of 423,600, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 999 per week. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kuningan. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 980 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.67 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Batang, with a population of 780,330, recorded 975 specimens examined per week; Singkawang City also recorded 975 specimens per week; and Tapin recorded 972 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 168 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 193 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Padang Pariaman, Singkawang City, and Tapin, with 999, 975, and 972 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
