Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest Number of Covid-19 Agglomeration-Related Deaths Nationwide (Monday, December 19, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 99 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Monday, December 19, 2022.

The five regencies/cities with the highest agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19, exceeding 0.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Kutai Barat, Pariaman City, Belu, West Sumba, and Balangan, with respective rates of 1.33, 1.08, 0.87, 0.74, and 0.74 deaths per 100,000 population per week.

National Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. However, 10 regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to Covid-19 than previously, while 16 regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.

Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to Covid-19 include Kutai Barat, Pariaman City, and Belu, with rates of 1.33, 1.08, and 0.87 deaths per 100,000 population per week, respectively.

Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
