Based on national Covid-19 data, 151 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Saturday, July 30, 2022, the national average was 70.53 percent. This achievement is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, Mimika, Balikpapan City, Surakarta City, and Tarakan City, with ratios of 792.86 percent, 640.18 percent, 630.59 percent, 591.12 percent, and 524.81 percent, respectively.
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, its weekly testing percentage is 792.86 percent. The latest positive rate is 6.31 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Mimika. With a population of 221,810, its weekly testing percentage in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic is 640.18 percent. The positive rate is 3.07 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Balikpapan City recorded 630.59 percent, Surakarta City 591.12 percent, and Tarakan City 524.81 percent in weekly testing percentages.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 29 regencies/cities actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 360 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Badung, Mimika, and Balikpapan City, with percentages of 792.86 percent, 640.18 percent, and 630.59 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
