Based on national Covid-19 data, 159 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Thursday, June 2, 2022, shows a national average of 0.78 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1,000 people per week, are: Central Jakarta (5.68 people), Balikpapan (5.35 people), South Jakarta (5.35 people), Badung (5.07 people), and Berau (3.82 people).
Central Jakarta ranks first. With a population of 913,720, the number of people tested was 5.68 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 1.12 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Balikpapan. With a population of 646,020, the number of people tested was 5.35 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate was 0.12 percent, also an increase from the previous week.
South Jakarta recorded 5.35 tests per 1,000 people per week, Badung 5.07 tests per 1,000 people per week, and Berau 3.82 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact, national Covid-19 data shows 175 regencies/cities actively reporting higher daily testing numbers than before. Conversely, 190 regencies/cities reported lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan (5.35 people), Badung (5.07 people), and Berau (3.82 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
