Top 10 Regencies/Cities in Indonesia with the Highest COVID-19 Hospital Bed Occupancy Rate (Wednesday, February 16, 2022)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) noted that at least 12 regencies/cities have a bed occupancy rate (BOR) above 60%. Nationally, the average BOR this week is 15.95 percent. This average is higher than last week's 12.31 percent, based on data from Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

The top five regencies/cities with COVID-19 BOR exceeding 65.63 percent are Buton, West Jakarta City, Sorong, Cimahi City, and Ogan Komering Ilir, with values of 74.53 percent, 66.77 percent, 66.12 percent, 65.82 percent, and 65.63 percent, respectively.

A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that the BOR in most regencies/cities outside Java is increasing. A daily BOR higher than the previous day was recorded in 110 regencies/cities, while 18 regencies/cities recorded a lower BOR.

Some of the regions outside Java with the highest BOR include Buton, Sorong, and Ogan Komering Ilir, with BORs of 74.53 percent, 66.12 percent, and 65.63 percent, respectively.

The government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
