The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 153 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 people above the national average, currently recorded at 93.01 per 100,000 people per week, data as of Monday, February 21, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest number of confirmed positive cases, exceeding 586.5 per 100,000 people per week, are Balikpapan City, South Jakarta City, Central Jakarta City, Bekasi City, and South Tangerang City, with respective values of 640.85, 609.31, 598.87, 598.53, and 586.5 per 100,000 people per week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows that the number of confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java is increasing. A higher than usual number of daily confirmed positive cases was recorded in 245 districts/cities, while 87 districts/cities recorded a lower number of confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of confirmed positive cases include Balikpapan City, Teluk Bintuni, and Mimika, with respective confirmed positive case rates of 640.85, 535.18, and 520.72 per 100,000 people per week.
The government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
