The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Sidoarjo (970 specimens), Karawang (890 specimens), Garut (873 specimens), Kupang City (833 specimens), and Yogyakarta City (803 specimens).
Sidoarjo ranks first, with 970 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 1.04 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Karawang, which examined 890 specimens per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.24 percent, higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Garut recorded 873 specimens examined per week, Kupang City 833 specimens per week, and Yogyakarta City 803 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 54 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 125 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, some regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Kupang City, Kutai Kartanegara, and Medan City, with 833, 767, and 691 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
