Top 5 Countries with the Most Omicron Cases Worldwide (Monday, February 7, 2022)

The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread globally, reaching 837,670 cases by Monday, February 7, 2022. The United Kingdom ranks first, with a weekly growth of 37.59 percent in Omicron cases. GISAID recorded 385,280 Omicron cases in the UK, a 2.91 percent daily increase compared to the previous day.

The United States follows, with a 43.64 percent weekly growth in Omicron cases. Daily figures show a 2.54 percent increase compared to the previous day, totaling 313,940 cases.

Denmark reported 61,670 Omicron cases (a 35.25% increase), Poland 10,187 cases (a 153.09% increase), and Israel 9,741 cases (a 57.01% increase).

In Indonesia, 3,780 Omicron cases have been recorded, representing a 0.21 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since its initial detection, the number of Omicron cases in Indonesia has steadily risen.
