The top five, starting from the highest, are Mimika, Badung, Balikpapan City, Central Jakarta City, and Jayapura, with respective figures of 13.35, 13.08, 11, 10.71, and 10.67 tests per 1,000 people per week.
Mimika ranks first. With a population of 221,810, the number of people tested here is recorded at 13.35 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.34 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Badung. The population in this region is recorded at 727,950. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 13.08 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.85 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Then, Balikpapan City recorded 11 tests per 1,000 people per week, Central Jakarta City recorded 10.71 tests per 1,000 people per week, and Jayapura recorded 10.67 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 184 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 196 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of tests include Mimika, Badung, and Balikpapan City, with 13.35, 13.08, and 11 tests per 1,000 people respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
