The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 136 districts/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive Covid-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.5 per 100,000 population/week, data as of Friday, December 23, 2022.
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 17.45 per 100,000 population/week are Balangan, Central Jakarta, Belitung, South Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with respective values of 30.47, 20.03, 19.26, 18.88, and 17.45 per 100,000 population/week.
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows that confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java have decreased. A higher than previous daily number of confirmed positive cases was recorded in 44 districts/cities, while 82 districts/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Balangan, Belitung, and Mimika, with confirmed positive cases of 30.47, 19.26, and 14.88 per 100,000 population/week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
