The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reports that Indonesia had 2,704 units of Battery-Based Electric Vehicle (KBLBB) infrastructure in 2023.
This KBLBB infrastructure includes 1,722 Public Electric Vehicle Battery Charging Stations (SPBKLU) and 911 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).
"Our target for KBLBB infrastructure development was 1,035 units, while the realization was more than 2.5 times that, or 261%," said Director General of Electricity Jisman P. Hutajulu in a press conference on Thursday (18/1/2024).
In terms of distribution, the highest concentration of SPKLUs is in DKI Jakarta, with 258 units in 2023.
West Java has 211 SPKLU units, and East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara has 179 units. The distribution of SPKLUs in other regions is lower, as shown in the graph.
Jisman stated that the development of SPKLUs in Indonesia is still predominantly concentrated on Java Island.
Going forward, the Ministry of ESDM will strive for equitable development of KBLBB infrastructure, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the *Enhancing Readiness For The Transition To Electric Vehicle In Indonesia* (ENTREV) program.
"We have requested that a roadmap be developed for how we will develop KBLBB infrastructure or charging units. So, in the future, it shouldn't be concentrated only in Jakarta," said Jisman.
