The Indonesian government began promoting the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination nationwide starting January 2022. As of Wednesday, February 9, 2022, the highest third-dose vaccination rate in West Sumatra is in Sawahlunto City, reaching 3.76%.

Previously, the first-dose vaccination rate in Sawahlunto City reached 93.65%, and the second dose reached 73.96%. A total of 88,778 doses have been administered in this region, exceeding the target of 51,805 vaccine recipients.
