This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (451.09%), Purwakarta (247.97%), Kutai Kartanegara (236.16%), Sikka (175.78%), and Tarakan City (175.19%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, the weekly percentage of people tested here was recorded at 451.09 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.17 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Purwakarta. The population in this region is recorded at 965,370. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested was 247.97 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.5 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Kutai Kartanegara recorded 236.16 percent testing, Sikka recorded 175.78 percent, and Tarakan City recorded 175.19 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 138 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 208 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Balikpapan City, Kutai Kartanegara, and Sikka, with weekly percentages of 451.09 percent, 236.16 percent, and 175.78 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the rate of coronavirus transmission.
