Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 182 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, April 1, 2022, shows a national average of 215.34 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per week, are Lampung Timur (994 people), Bangka (966 people), Banjarbaru City (955 people), Purworejo (955 people), and Dairi (947 people).
Lampung Timur ranks first, with 994 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.12 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Bangka. The population of this region is 341,430. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 966 people were tested per week. The positive rate is 3.11 percent, also down from the previous week.
Furthermore, Banjarbaru City recorded 955 tests per week, Purworejo recorded 955 tests per week, and Dairi recorded 947 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 118 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 263 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest number of tests per week include Lampung Timur, Bangka, and Banjarbaru City, with 994, 966, and 955 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
