Most people know the government is developing the Merah Putih vaccine.

The Indonesian government has undertaken various efforts to control the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, ranging from vaccine development to the creation of various innovative medical devices. However, according to a survey by the Indonesian Public Opinion Discussion and Study Group (KedaiKOPI), not all respondents were aware of these government efforts.

Public awareness is highest regarding the development of the Merah Putih vaccine currently being developed by the government. At least 59.7% of respondents were aware of the government's efforts in developing this vaccine. Furthermore, 53.1% of respondents understood that the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek) is collaborating with several universities to create a local ventilator.

Meanwhile, public awareness is lowest regarding GeNose, developed by Kemenristek and Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Only 45% were aware of the development of this AI-based machine for Covid-19 detection.

KedaiKOPI conducted a survey of 803 respondents, who were office workers in DKI Jakarta. The survey, conducted from October 8-10, 2020, focused on public opinion regarding the government's handling of Covid-19.

The government urges the public to diligently practice handwashing with soap, wear masks, and maintain physical distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
