Peru ranks first, with a weekly increase in deaths growing by 121.84 percent. Worldometer recorded 193 deaths in the country, a 19.14 percent increase compared to the previous day.
Canada follows in second place. Compared to the previous week, deaths in the country grew by 15.15 percent. Yesterday's daily death toll was 76. El Salvador recorded one death (unchanged from the previous day), Mexico saw a 5.41% decrease in deaths, and Chile recorded 118 deaths (down 16.31%).
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the Americas over the past seven days occurred in the United States, with 1,442 deaths. This represents a 32.33% decrease compared to the previous week. Following the US, Brazil recorded 485 deaths (down 26.74%), Peru recorded 193 deaths (up 121.84%), Chile recorded 118 deaths (down 16.31%), and Canada recorded 76 deaths (up 15.15%).
The total number of deaths in the Americas over the past seven days was 2,455. This accounts for 30.93 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 7,936. The number of deaths in the Americas decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 3,278 deaths.
