The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Singkawang City (989 specimens), Boyolali (981 specimens), Bima (950 specimens), Magelang (934 specimens), and Buleleng (931 specimens).
Singkawang City ranks first. With a population of 232,760, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 989 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.39 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Boyolali. The population of this region is recorded at 990,850. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 981 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.19 percent, also down from the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Bima recorded 950 specimens examined per week, Magelang 934 specimens per week, and Buleleng 931 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 180 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 182 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Singkawang City, Bima, and Buleleng, with 989, 950, and 931 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
