As of the week of March 26, 2023, the national average testing rate was recorded at 6.92 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Indragiri Hulu (218.3%), Sikka (213.04%), Balikpapan City (189.75%), Purwakarta (184.05%), and Central Halmahera (120.91%).
Indragiri Hulu ranks first. With a population of 453,480, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 218.3 percent. The latest positive rate is 0 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Sikka. The population in this region is recorded at 325,260. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 213.04 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.15 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Then, Balikpapan City recorded 189.75 percent testing, Purwakarta 184.05 percent, and Central Halmahera, with a population of 59,226, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 120.91 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 128 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 169 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Indragiri Hulu, Sikka, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 218.3 percent, 213.04 percent, and 189.75 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
