Based on a Worldometers report, active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia ranked seventh highest in Southeast Asia, with 8,365 cases as of 1:38 GMT on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia show a downward trend ahead of Idul Fitri (Lebaran). Active Covid-19 cases reached their peak during the third wave, reaching 586,113 cases on February 24, 2022.
Vietnam holds the first position with 1,353,292 active cases. Laos is in second place with 198,482 active cases.
Thailand and Singapore occupy the third and fourth positions with 155,907 and 69,652 cases respectively. The Philippines has 9,585 active Covid-19 cases.
Below Indonesia is Myanmar with 1,615 active Covid-19 cases. This is followed by Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and Timor Leste, which have 836, 161, and 11 active Covid-19 cases respectively.
Although active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia are decreasing, the public must remain vigilant, especially during the Lebaran homecoming season. The government continues to urge the public to always implement health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, frequently washing hands with soap, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
