Based on national Covid-19 data, 154 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Wednesday, June 15, 2022, shows a national average of 0.95 tests per 1000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of tests per 1000 people per week, are: Central Jakarta (7.38 people), South Jakarta (7.2 people), Wakatobi (6.54 people), Badung (5.35 people), and Balikpapan (5.16 people).
Central Jakarta ranks first. With a population of 913,720, the number of people tested there is 7.38 per 1000 people per week. The latest positive rate is three percent. The positive rate in this area increased compared to the previous week.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 7.2 per 1000 people per week. The positive rate in this area is 4.8 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Wakatobi recorded 6.54 tests per 1000 people per week, Badung 5.35 tests per 1000 people per week, and Balikpapan 5.16 tests per 1000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 158 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 198 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Wakatobi, Badung, and Balikpapan, with 6.54, 5.35, and 5.16 people tested respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
