Most Indonesian citizens consider the United Nations (UN) the most important international organization for Indonesia.
This is recorded in the *Indonesia Poll 2021* survey report released by the Australian research institution, the Lowy Institute, in early 2022.
According to the survey, in 2021, 41% of respondents viewed the UN as the most important organization. This percentage has increased from a decade ago, as shown in the graph.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was considered important by 30% of respondents, down from a decade ago.
5% of other respondents considered the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) the most important organization, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 4%, and the Non-Aligned Movement 3%.
Only 3% of respondents considered the Group of Twenty (G20) important to Indonesia, even though Indonesia hosted the 2022 G20 Summit.
This survey was conducted from November 29 to December 24, 2021. The survey involved 3,000 respondents over the age of 17, spread across 33 Indonesian provinces.
The survey was conducted using a stratified random sample method and has a margin of error of 1.8%.
