As of Tuesday, August 22, 2023, 69.28 million doses of the COVID-19 booster vaccine have been administered in Indonesia. This represents 38.16% of the national vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 102 booster doses were administered nationwide on the previous day.
West Java has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationally, with 15.58 million doses administered. Within West Java, Bogor Regency has the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.6 million doses, followed by Bandung Regency (1.1 million), Bekasi Regency (993,140), Bekasi City (982,890), Cianjur Regency (913,680), and Bandung City (901,850).
East Java is second nationally with 9.47 million booster doses administered, with Surabaya City having the highest number of recipients in the province at 1.32 million doses. Central Java is third with 8.65 million doses, followed by Jakarta, North Sumatra, and Banten with 5.42 million, 4.22 million, and 3.01 million doses respectively.
