Indonesia today recorded an additional 1,661 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.02 million as of Monday, April 4, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Central Java, and East Java.

- DKI Jakarta recorded an additional 488 cases
DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases here is recorded at 488 cases, or a 0.04 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 1.24 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.24 million.
In addition to recording the highest increase in cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded 10 deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta has reached 15,189. The seven-day positive rate is at 4.23 percent, and the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals is reported at seven percent.
- West Java recorded an additional 282 cases
West Java is ranked second. The increase in Covid-19 cases here is 282 cases. The seven-day positive rate in this region is recorded at 4.42 percent. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 109.8 per week.
- Banten recorded an additional 162 cases
Next is Banten. The increase in cases here is recorded at 162 cases, or a 0.06 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which has reached 289,870. With this addition, the total number of cases in this province is now 290,030.
Unfortunately, in addition to recording a high number of new cases, Banten also recorded one death. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in Banten has reached 2,923.
The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to the previous week.
Similarly, the positive rate in this region is recorded as lower than before. According to the Ministry of Health, the BOR for Covid-19 hospitals in this province is recorded at seven percent.
- Central Java recorded an additional 149 cases
Fourth in the ranking is Central Java. In this province, the increase in cases today is 149 cases, or a 0.02 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which is recorded at 624,470.
