International tourist visits (wisman) to DKI Jakarta have continued to increase over the past year. According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), wisman visits to the capital city reached 121,438 in August 2022.

This figure is up slightly by 1.88% compared to July 2022 (month-to-month/m-to-m), which totaled 119,197 visits.

Meanwhile, compared to the same period last year, wisman visits to the capital city increased by 11,238.7% (year-on-year/yoy). It is noted that the arrival of wisman in August 2021 was the lowest throughout 2021, at only 1,071 visits.

Based on the point of entry, 121,427 wisman arrived in Jakarta via Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Meanwhile, only 11 wisman arrived via Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport.

Based on nationality, the number of visits from Malaysian tourists was recorded at 12,899 visits, or 10.6% of the total visits to DKI Jakarta. This was followed by Singaporean wisman with 8,990 visits (7.4%), China with 7,615 visits (6.3%), France with 6,264 visits (5.2%), and Saudi Arabia with 6,203 visits (5.1%).

Cumulatively, the number of wisman visits to DKI Jakarta reached 472,897 from January to August 2022. This figure increased dramatically by 619.8% compared to the same period last year.
