According to the Indonesian Nutritional Status Study (SSGI) report, the prevalence of stunting among children under five (toddlers) in Jambi Province was 22.4% in 2021.
This figure is lower than the national prevalence of stunted toddlers, which reached 24.2% that year.
In detail, seven regencies/cities in Jambi had a prevalence of stunted toddlers above the provincial average, while four others were below the provincial figure.
Muaro Jambi Regency was recorded as the area with the highest prevalence of stunted toddlers in Jambi Province, reaching 27.2%. This means that approximately 1 in 4 toddlers in this regency experienced stunting last year.
The next highest prevalence areas were Kerinci Regency (26.7%), followed by Tebo Regency (26.2%), Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency (25.6%), Sungai Penuh City (25%), Batang Hari Regency (24.5%), and Bungo Regency (22.9%).
Meanwhile, Jambi City recorded the lowest prevalence, at 17.4%, followed by Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency (19.7%), Merangin Regency (19.8%), and Sarolangun Regency (21.4%).
