The average expenditure of people in Wakatobi Regency for purchasing tomato sauce in 2023 was Rp213.64 per capita per week. This figure surged compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp111.17 per capita per week.

Five largest household expenditures on spices in Wakatobi Regency, from highest to lowest, were: tamarind Rp1,152.26 per capita per week, nutmeg Rp1,068.43 per capita per week, salt Rp600.91 per capita per week, turmeric Rp556.5 per capita per week, and the lowest was for shrimp paste/petis at Rp43.86 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, including purchases, gifts, and self-produced goods, divided by the number of household members. Based on region, the highest household expenditure on tomato sauce was in Fakfak Regency and the lowest in Belu Regency. Wakatobi Regency's expenditure on tomato sauce ranked 38th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for purchasing tomato sauce is Rp253.5 per capita per week.
