As of Thursday, April 28, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 4.61 percent. This suspect testing data is calculated based on the number of suspected individuals and close contacts compared to the number of people tested in each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly suspect testing percentage, are Barito Timur (74.05%), Pangandaran (68.81%), Simalungun (50.91%), Padang Lawas Utara (47.43%), and Tasikmalaya (41.49%).
Barito Timur ranks first. With a population of 128,130, its weekly suspect testing percentage is recorded at 74.05 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.97 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Pangandaran. The population of this region is recorded at 407,350. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly suspect testing percentage is 68.81 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.46 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, the weekly suspect testing percentage in Simalungun is recorded at 50.91 percent, 47.43 percent in Padang Lawas Utara, and 41.49 percent in Tasikmalaya.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 170 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly percentage of suspect testing than before. Meanwhile, 200 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly suspect testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly suspect testing percentages include Barito Timur, Simalungun, and Padang Lawas Utara, with weekly suspect testing percentages of 74.05 percent, 50.91 percent, and 47.43 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
