The trend of active Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has continued to decline since the third wave of the coronavirus hit in early February 2022. According to the Covid-19 Task Force report, the number of active cases reached 95,990 as of April 3, 2022.
West Java still has the highest number of active Covid-19 cases, reaching 25,592. This is equivalent to 26.66% of the total national active cases.
Central Java has the second-highest number of active Covid-19 cases with 15,271. Papua and Lampung are in third and fourth place, respectively, with 12,066 and 9,005 active Covid-19 cases.
Next, Yogyakarta and Jakarta have 7,042 and 5,501 active Covid-19 cases, respectively.
West Sumatra, Banten, and East Nusa Tenggara are also among the provinces with the highest number of active Covid-19 cases, with 3,037, 3,025, and 1,696 cases respectively. Meanwhile, North Kalimantan recorded 1,692 active Covid-19 cases.
The total number of positive Covid-19 cases in Indonesia reached 6,019,981 by April 3, 2022. 2.57% of these cases resulted in death, and 95.82% have recovered.
Although the trend of Covid-19 transmission is decreasing, the public must remain vigilant. Health protocols must still be followed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, including wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
