The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 72 regencies/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.76 per 100,000 population per week, are Majene, Madiun City, Magelang City, Samosir, and Sangihe Islands, with respective values of 1.13, 1.12, 0.82, 0.79, and 0.76 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
The national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. Five regencies/cities recorded a higher daily number of Covid-19 deaths than before, while four regencies/cities recorded lower numbers.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Majene, Samosir, and Sangihe Islands, with respective death rates of 1.13, 0.79, and 0.76 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
