The 2023/2024 Indonesian Liga 1 football season will run from July 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024.
According to Transfermarkt data, leading up to the start of the season, Persija is the Liga 1 club with the highest market valuation.
Transfermarkt measures the market valuation of football clubs based on various indicators, such as players' ages, performance in club and national teams, injury history, salaries, transfer fees, and potential future development.
Considering these indicators, Transfermarkt valued Persija at EUR 5.64 million, or approximately Rp 92.6 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp 16,421 per EUR) as of June 15, 2023.
This figure is closely followed by Persib, with a valuation of EUR 5.58 million, or approximately Rp 91.6 billion.
Other football clubs in the top 10 highest valuations in Liga 1 Indonesia are Borneo FC, Bali United FC, PERSIS Solo, Arema FC, PSS Sleman, PSIS Semarang, PSM Makassar, and Bhayangkara FC, with details as shown in the chart above.
However, high valuation doesn't always translate to championship wins.
For example, PSM Makassar, with a market valuation ranked 9th, topped the 2022/2023 Liga 1 standings with a total of 75 points.
Meanwhile, Persija Jakarta finished second in the 2022/2023 Liga 1 standings with 66 points, and Persib Bandung came in third with 62 points.
