The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 78 regencies/cities with a Covid-19 death rate above the national average, currently recorded at 0.05 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest Covid-19 death rates, exceeding 0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Tabanan (1.1 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Palangkaraya City (1.01 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Pangkal Pinang City (0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national Covid-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in Covid-19 deaths in most regencies/cities outside Java. Four regencies/cities recorded higher daily Covid-19 death rates than previously, while four others recorded lower rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest Covid-19 death rates include Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Tabanan (1.1 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
