Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: Jakarta Records Highest Increase (Wednesday, February 8, 2023)

Indonesia today recorded an additional 263 Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic to 6.73 million as of Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, and Central Java.

Here is the breakdown of the highest Covid-19 case increases by province today

1. DKI Jakarta recorded an increase of 90 cases

DKI Jakarta is ranked first. The increase in cases here was 90, or a 0.01 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total, which had reached 1.54 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in DKI Jakarta is now 1.54 million.

In addition to recording the highest increase in cases, DKI Jakarta also recorded one death. Thus, the total number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic in DKI Jakarta has reached 15,938.

The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to the previous week.

2. West Java recorded an increase of 67 cases

3. Banten recorded an increase of 24 cases
