COVID-19 Cases Increase by 30,156 (Saturday, March 5)

Confirmed Covid-19 cases increased by 30,156 people as of March 5, 2022. With this addition, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 5,723,858.

Meanwhile, 5,073,522 patients have been declared recovered, and 149,918 people have died.

The government urges the public to more actively implement health protocols as the spread of the Omicron variant increases in Indonesia. With this variant, the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia is feared to become even more widespread and difficult to contain. This is despite the fact that the positive rate had decreased in most regions earlier this year.

Previously, during the first wave of Covid-19 last year, the highest daily increase in cases was recorded on July 15, 2021, at 56,757 cases. With the arrival of the Omicron variant, this record was then broken twice in February, with an increase of 57,049 cases on February 15 and 64,718 cases on February 16.
