The Philippines recorded the highest increase in Covid-19 deaths in Asia, with weekly growth reaching 580 percent. In this country, Worldometer recorded 34 deaths, a 47.83 percent increase compared to the previous day.
Following the Philippines is the United Arab Emirates in second place. Compared to the previous week, deaths in this country grew by 200 percent. The number of deaths in this country was reported as three. Daily statistics show a 25% decrease in deaths compared to the previous day, which was four deaths.
Next, deaths in Hong Kong increased by 200%, deaths in Lebanon increased by 100%, and India recorded 137 deaths (up 95.71%).
Looking at the number of reported deaths, the highest number of deaths in the last seven days in Asia occurred in Taiwan with 1,103 deaths. Death reports in this country decreased by 2.39% compared to the previous week. Following Taiwan, Thailand reported 140 deaths (down 0.71%), India recorded 137 deaths (up 95.71%), Japan recorded 114 deaths (down 21.38%), and South Korea recorded 81 deaths (down 3.57%).
Total deaths in Asia over the last seven days were recorded at 1,755. This accounts for 20.71 percent of global deaths caused by the Covid-19 virus, totaling 8,474 deaths. The number of deaths in Asia increased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 1,736 deaths.
