Expenditure of Residents in Southwest Sumba Regency for Cucumber Purchases: Rp28,5 per Capita per Week

The average expenditure of people in West Sumba Regency to buy cucumbers in 2023 was Rp28.5 per capita per week. This figure is down compared to the previous year's expenditure, which was recorded at Rp56.84 per capita per week.

The five largest expenditures of residents for vegetables in West Sumba Regency, from highest to lowest, were: cassava leaves/tapioca leaves Rp1,626.91 per capita per week, chili peppers Rp1,605.4 per capita per week, garlic Rp1,174.82 per capita per week, shallots Rp954.85 per capita per week, and the lowest expenditure was for onions at Rp3.61 per capita per week.

Average per capita expenditure is the cost incurred for the consumption of all household members over a month, whether from purchases, gifts, or self-production, divided by the number of household members. Household consumption is distinguished between food and non-food consumption, regardless of the origin of the goods, and is limited to household expenditure only, excluding consumption/expenditure for business purposes or given to other parties.

Expenditure for food consumption is calculated weekly, while for non-food consumption it is calculated monthly and for the past 12 months. Both food and non-food consumption are then converted into average monthly expenditure. The average per capita consumption/expenditure figures presented in BPS publications are obtained by dividing the total consumption of all households (both consuming food and not) by the total population.

Based on region, the highest household expenditure on cucumbers was in Tolikara Regency and the lowest in Sikka Regency. West Sumba Regency's cucumber expenditure ranked 510th. Meanwhile, the national average per capita expenditure for cucumbers is Rp257 per capita per week.
