The Indonesian Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) reported that the number of National Health Insurance (JKN) participants reached 241.79 million as of June 30, 2022.
Of this number, 108.51 million (44.88%) were recipients of contribution assistance from the State Budget (PBI APBN). Another 37.37 million (15.45%) were recipients of contribution assistance from the Regional Budget (PBI APBD).
There were also 31 million (12.82%) participants who were State Employee Wage Recipients (PPU PN) and 18.84 million (7.79%) participants who were Wage Recipients other than state employees (PPU BU).
Furthermore, there were 41.77 million (17.28%) participants who were Self-Employed Wage Recipients (PPU Pekerja Mandiri). In addition, there were 4.3 million (1.78%) JKN participants who were not employed.
BPJS Kesehatan is currently piloting a Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS) program in 5 government-owned hospitals. However, the BPJS Kesehatan contribution rates remain unchanged.
The following is a list of JKN participant contributions:
1. Class III contribution: Rp 42,000
2. Class II contribution: Rp 100,000
3. Class I contribution: Rp 150,000
